Replace sweets and candy with a few dry fruits like almonds, etc. for after lunch munching. So much healthier. Try substituting kids' lunch bag with lemonade instead of water once or twice a week. They'll be thrilled. Rub a piece of lime (used) inside the lunch box to get rid of strong odours (like garlic) before rinsing off.

Curry became too salty? No Problem. Add pieces of raw potatoes or a piece of dough which you must remove before serving they will absorb the liquid & then you can top up with a cup of plain water which will reduce the saltiness. If curry is not spicy, fry any spices you like with some chopped green chilli in hot oil in a frying pan & add to the curry.

If you are making patties or tikkis of potatoes, always make sure that the potatoes are boiled well in advance and cooled before you use them. It would be better if they can be refrigerated for a short time. This helps the starch in the potatoes to settle down and the tikkis will not be soft and broken.
