Hyderabadi Chicken biryani in PRESTIGE pressure cooker


Basmati rice, chicken, whole garam masala, onions, ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, curd, mint and coriander leaves, green chillies, lemon powdered garm masala and salt

Step By Step Method

  • Preparation of chicken- In a pressure cooker add 200ml of oil add 2 green cardamom, 2 black cardamom,stick of cinnamon and 5-6 clives and then add 3 medium size onion ( finely sliced) and fry until brown. Then add 500g of chicken and fry for 5 mins . Then add ginger garlic paste and again fry till the smell if ginger garlic paste is gone. Then add red chilly powder(1tsp), turmeric powder(1/2tsp) and fry till oil oozes out from the chicken. Then add 1 cup of whisked curd and pressure cook till 1 whistle. Take out the chicken from the cooker and add 2 tbs of lemon juice and mix well and in the same cooker(after washing) add 2 cups of basmati rice, 3 cups of water, mint leaves(chopped) , green chillies(2) , cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, 1 tsp refined oil and salt according to your taste. Pressure cook the rice only till one whistle as soon as whistle is blown remove all the pressure from the cooker by removing the whistle. Then take out half of the rice and put aside. In the other half which is in the cooker layer the prepared chicken over it, then add fried onion, powered garam masala, mint and coriander leaves , then put another layer of rice over it and garnish with fried onions, mint and coriander leaves, garam masala and ghee(2 tbs). Lastly add kesar dissolved in warm milk over the biryani and cover the cooker for 15 mins on low flame. Your instant HYDERABADI CHICKEN BIRYANI is ready to serve
