Ingredients

1 cup of gram flour

1 small onion finely chopped

2 green chillies finely chopped

2 small medium potatoes boiled and mashed

2-3 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh coriander

¾ teaspoon of amchur powder

¼ teaspoon of carom seeds

¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

½ teaspoon of chilli powder

⅛ teaspoon of baking soda

Salt to taste

3 tablespoons of tomato ketchup

4 slices of bread

1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste

Water as required

Oil to deep fry

Step By Step Method

  • Gram flour batter

    In a mixing bowl, mix the gram flour, salt, carom seeds, turmeric, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, baking soda with enough water to form a semi thick batter. Keep aside.

    Potato Mixture

    In another mixing bowl, mix the mashed potato with chopped onions, green chillies, fresh coriander, amchur powder and salt.

    Keep the kadai with oil to heat. Spread tomato ketchup on a slice of bread. Press on the potato onion mixture evenly onto it. Place the other bread slice over it and cut it diagonally into 2 halves. Do the same with the other 2 slices of bread. Now dip each triangular pair of stuffed bread into the gram flour batter and deep fry till golden brown. Serve with fresh mint chutney and relish.
