1. 1 Cup whole wheat Atta and some Atta for dusting 2. 1 tbsp yeast 3. 4 tbsp sugar 4. 150ml milk, boiled and cooled 5. ¼ tsp salt 6. 50gm butter at room temperature 7. Vegetable oil, for deep-frying Chocolate sauce and Choco chips for decoration.

Step By Step Method

  • 1. Mix the yeast with half a teaspoon of the sugar and two tablespoons of the warm milk. Place in a warm place to rest for 15 mins until frothy. 2. Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Mix one tablespoon of the sugar. 3. Pour in the yeast mix and the rest of the milk. Mix to make a dough and then knead, add 50gm of butter to the dough and kneed well. 4. Cover the bowl and leave to stand for 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size. 5. Dust atta floor on the work surface, knead the dough. Roll out the dough using rolling pin to 1 inch thickness. 6. Cut the dough to doughnut shape and rest it for 20 mins. 7. Heat the oil in a deep pan in medium heat, drop in the doughnuts and fry both sides until it turns golden brown. Drain the doughnuts on tissue paper to remove excess oil. 8. Add chocolate sauce over the fried doughnuts and Choco chips. Delicious Choco doughnuts are ready to serve (decorate as you wish). Instead of refined floor whole wheat flour is used to make it as a healthy recipe.
