Dhuska (Rice Fried Bread)

1 cup Basmati rice

½ cup chana dal

¼ cup urad dal

Soak the dals and rice together for 4-5 hours and grind them to a idli dosa batter consistency

2-3 green chillies

1 inch finely chopped ginger

3 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves

1 teaspoon of cumin seeds

¼ teaspoon of asafoetida

¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Oil to fry



Step By Step Method

  • Take a bowl, add the ground batter of rice and dals in it. Mix in the turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida, coriander leaves and cumin seeds. Now heat the oil to fry and introduce the batter into the oil carefully with a ladle. You will get round golden brown circular dhuska. Fry them uniformly on both sides. Remove them on a kitchen towel to drain out the excess oil and serve with mint chutney.
