A easy and tasty non vegetarian dish. you can serve it normal rotis or layered parathas, rice.


Ingredients : 1. Cashews-12 no. 2. Whole black pepper pods-1/2 tsp. 3. Cinnamon-1 no. 4. Whole red chillies-2 (Kashmiri lal mirch) 5. Cloves-3 6. Black Cardamom-1 7. Bay Leaf-2 no. 8. Poppy Seeds-1 tsp. 9. Sesame Seeds- 1 & 1/2 tbsp. 10. Onions -1 medium thinly sliced. 11. Tomatoes-2 blanched n blended. 12. Salt as per taste. 13. Red chilli powder - 1tsp or as required. 14. Haldi powder- 1/4 tsp. 15. Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp. 16. Mutton 1/2 kg. 17. Water as required. 18. fresh coriander chopped & few mint leaves. 19. Oil 1/4 cup. 20. Ginger & Garlic Paste -1 tbsp.

Step By Step Method

  • Direction: In a pan dry roast cashews, pepper pods, cinnamon, whole red chillies, black cardamom, cloves, Bay leaf, mustard seeds, poppy seeds and sesame seeds till fragrant. take off from heat and leave it to cool. once cooled transfer it to a spice mixer and grind well and add 1/4 cup water to it and blend it to a nice thick paste. keep aside. In a Cooker heat oil ( i used olive oil. you may use any vegetable oil) once the oil is hot add in d sliced onions. Saute till dey turn golden brown. add the mutton pieces and stir for few minutes till the colour changes. Add the ginger-Garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes(i.e., 2 to 3 minutes). Add the ground tomatoes, red chilli powder, Haldi powder and salt. cook for 5-7 mins. Add 1 & 1/2 cups water to pressure cook the meat. cook till tender. once the pressure releases, open the cooker and add in the thick spice paste and cook on low flame for around 10-12 mins. Add the chopped coriander n mint. switch off the flame. You can serve this with parathas or rice.
