3 boiled eggs

½ cup of gram flour

2 tablespoon of rice flour

Salt to taste

⅛ teaspoon of carom seeds(ajwain)

¼ teaspoon of red chili powder

¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

Water as required

1 tablespoon of green chili paste

1 onion ground into a paste

1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste

Oil to deep fry



Step By Step Method

  • Pierce the boiled eggs with a fork in 4 different places and cut each egg into 3 even slices. The piercing of the eggs prevents it from bursting during frying. In a mixing bowl prepare the gram flour batter by mixing all the ingredients except for the boiled eggs. The batter should be of the idli dosa batter consistency.


    Heat the oil in the kadai till the right temperature. Dip each slice of egg in the batter, coat it evenly on all sides and introduce one by one into the kadai. Fry them till golden brown. Drain the fried egg bondas onto an absorbent kitchen towel. Serve hot with ketchup or mint chutney.
