1 cup of finely washed and cut spinach

1 small potato peeled and grated

2 small finely cut green chillies

1 inch piece of ginger finely chopped

1 small medium onion finely cut

2 tablespoons of finely cut fresh coriander

¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

½ teaspoon of carom seeds

½ teaspoon of chilli powder

½ teaspoon of coriander powder

Salt to taste

2-3 tablespoons of water

Oil to fry

¾ cup of gram flour or besan



Step By Step Method

  • Take a large mixing bowl, put in all the ingredients except gram flour. Add ½ cup of gram flour initially and mix all the ingredients well. The mixture should be thick and not watery. Add in the required water and gram flour as required to bind and hold all the ingredients well together.

    Heat oil in a kadai. Once hot, take small portions from the mixture and introduce one by one into the hot oil. Fry them till they are turn evenly golden brown under medium heat. Your crispy Palak Pakode are ready.
