Creamy and lip smacking paneer bhurji curry goes very well with rotis and naan and it also can be had with bread and pav. Very easy and quick to prepare.


Paneer 200 gms grated For making tomato paste 1 tbsp oil 1 bay leaf 2 cardamom 2 cloves 1/2 inch cinnamon 1/2 inch ginger 3 garlic cloves 3 medium tomatoes roughly chopped For gravy 1 tbsp butter 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup red and green capsicum A pinch of astofatida 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp corriander powder 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp kasoori methi 2 tblsp fresh cream 1 tbsp tomato sauce 1 cup water Salt to raate

Step By Step Method

  • 1.For preparing tomato paste add 1 tbsp oil in a kadai on medium heat, add bay leaf,cloves,cinnamon and cardamom. Then add garlic , ginger and tomatoes, saute till colour changes and switch off the stove. Let it cool and grind it to a paste without adding water. 2.In the same kadai add butter , when it melts add cumin seeds. 3.when cumin crackles add chopped onion and capsicum, saute for 2 mins, then add the tomato paste and stir. 4. When side starts leaving , add the chili powder, corriander powder , a pinch of astofatida and kasoori methi and saute for 2 mins. 5. Then add the garam masala and grated paneer and mix well in the gravy, then add 1 cup water,1 tblsp tomato sauce and stir well and let it cook for 2 mins, add salt to taste and finally add fresh cream and serve hot.
