Step By Step Method

  • First take pressure cooker and take 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of mung dal and wash them until it becomes clean. Add 10 pieces of black peppercorns, salt and turmeric powder and 2 green chillies to rice and mung dal and add 5 cups of water and lit the stove. Let the cooker runs until it gets 1 whistle and then remove the pan from stove. Wait for 5 mins and open the pan.

    Take a pan and keep on the stove. Pour 3 spoons of ghee. Wait for the ghee to become heat. After the ghee becomes heated fry 5 pieces of cashew nuts, 1/2 spoon jeera and 1/4 spoon of asafoetida. Then pour this mixure in the pan and mix it well and now the hot hot Pongal is ready to eat smiley
